Oil looks like it hasn't run since. Have you started it up to get some oil flowing and then recheck? You may need to practice your check/withdrawal technique.Your second photo looks closer to what 0.4 qt high might look like. It shouldn't hurt it to be a bit high and use the extra within 1000 miles.

What is oil capacity WITH oil cooler? 6.5?

According to RAVE, 6.6qt and 7.4qt from dry. I have an oil cooler, but I don't think I've ever been able to put that much oil in. When I change the filter next I'll measure
