Won’t the pressure equalize thru the weep hole in the t-stat?

Nope, pressure will find its way to both sides through the hoses.

Coolant pressure tester is worth its weight in gold. after bringing engine up to temp (thanks for that tidbit) found the leak in less than 2 minutes

Not sure of the part number, but its the hose that goes from bottom of the reservoir and the thermostat and then connects to the water pump.

Going to replace the water pump while I am in there.
Should I also replace the thermostat?
What is the part number of the connector to the waterpump?

The plastic wye at the bottom is not sold separately except as an aluminum piece from Carrs 4x4. You will need to replace the entire lower hose assembly. Yes, replace the thermostat with the inline kit, read the sticky at the top of the forum.

i recently did the inline kit and Carrs 4x4 aluminum splitter piece on my daily driver '04.

there are now no plastic parts in the system to crack and fail. much more peace of mind around town, road tripping, and off roading.

I tried the https://inlinethermostats.com/ site and it is not working. Any where else to get the inline kit?
