Update on my oil leak: Its not coming from the front its coming from the back i believe because the back is covered in oil around the passenger side o2 sensor in the engine bay what could that be (its all over the sensor and the connector for it)?

Also i have a coolant leak now I'm assuming its coming from the throttle body??

Its leaking on the drivers side valve cover. I came out and the reservoir was empty. i took some pictures all help appreciated!

 

Anyone have any ideas? is it safe to drive and just keep filling up the coolant to the cold level or do i need to fix it before i drive again?

 

Throttle body heater...like a $20 part and a whopping 4 bolts and 3 screws to change. Get the kit from AB or Rovers North, take off the throttle body, swap the parts, put it back on, done.

 

Ok thanks do i just need to keep topping it off with fresh coolant since its empty until i get the part in

 

Just bypass the heater with a 1/4" hose mender.

 

^^ what he said...while you wait for the parts you can just bypass it with some hose.

Since it says you're in the south, you could in theory keep it bypassed but I'm accepting no liability if you get a freak cold blast and your throttle body gets stuck open in the winter.

I'd just bypass it while you wait for parts then you wont leak coolant in the mean time.

 

Ok cool ill order it right away. also in the attached photo i just found this connector with nothing in it what is it and should it be connected?

 

Letting it leak on your engine will cause the truck to run awful. Make the Service Engine Soon light blink just like your turn signal. It gets the Crank sensor wet and causes it to read wrong.

As for that plug, I have no idea. Never noticed it before. If you dont have any lights on the dash it's probably there for some sorta option you dont have installed.

 

I wonder if its somthing for if i had secondary air injection? its like sorda under the coolant box weird

 

you may want to run a file over the throttle body to be sure it is square before you install the new onw
