Default Coolant leak... Cracked sleeve?

I have a pretty constant coolant leak. The engine was just replaced with a rebuilt one. The reservoir is half full every other day. I can't seem to find any major leaks, and it doesn't leave pools in my driveway. Oil and coolant are both clean.

Any ideas on what could be going on?

Did you replace the head gaskets when you replaced the engine?

Did you use new head bolts? When cold starting do you get any white smoke, does your exhaust smell sweet?

I did notice white smoke the other day, but not every time. The exhaust doesnt smell like antifreeze at the moment. The engine was bought as a long block, preassembled. I had a shop swap it in.

I'm hoping there's another possibility, because its literally got like 1000 miles on the new engine.

add some dye and run it. then use a black light to determine any leaks might even be say a radiator or something else.

Start by checking all of your hoses. The t-body heater plate is a common place to leak, and the dye suggested above is a good step too. Be mindful of the level, if it overheats, you are looking at another block.

Was this a used long block?
