Well found what appears to be the issue, the hose that attaches to the lower intake manifold was shot. Went to put a screwdriver in the hose clamp and the entire hose spun freely, zero clamping force. Now I just need a pressure tester.
@extinct we have literally have one choice, CDN Tire for auto tool rentals, the local store is useless as they never have anything. If the one 20 minutes away does not have one I will put her back together and hope for the best. Worse case I have to take all apart again.
Well I suppose you could make your own with an air compressor, compressor fitting and tee fitting in the 5/16" hose, just don't put too much air pressure on it.
I have a dumb question - why aren't you just buying the actual hose rather than finding a generic replacement? Just curious, not judging or anything. I don't think they're NLA.
That plastic hard line gets brittle and just snaps when you least expect it. When I replace it with the 5/16 hose I slide a spark plug wire boot protector over the hose where it's exposed to the heat from the exhaust manifold.
