Default Coolant passage supposed to look like this?

Is the forward cooling passage on the passenger side of the block supposed to be a 1/4" hole?

Yes, Mine looked the same too. Initially when I did my head gasket last november I took same picture asking why just a small hole there. If that was larger, probably there won't be any over heating problems.

Well as long as it isn't clogged, it should cool fine but dexcool screwed that up.

Ive had three engines and the misfortune to state into the guts of all of them, and they all look that way.

Leaves little to wonder why rovers are prone to overheat.

Yea but damn bricks didn't have that major problem like we are having. I wish there was a higher flow pump and a stock set up that was better than having to do the online mod for the thermostat. I understand the want of passenger comfort but hell I'll let it idle for a few or turn on the seat warmers before wanting to crack a block
