Coolant pump on a 2001 DII - Difficult?

Open your hood, find the power steering reservoir, does it have 2 caps or 1?
2=ACE
1=no ACE

Any thoughts on how to get the old coolant pump gasket off? Tried a plastic scraper but that bugger is on there good.

Plastic will not touch that gasket, razor blade and brake cleaner just be careful because it is aluminum and you can damage it easily if you scrape too deep. After you are done you can use some fine sandpaper to clean it up

Indeed, as I note in my other thread, we picked up the sort of scraper that uses single-edged razor blades. But keep it flat against the face, and remember it's harder than the block.

It's a rough job -- it took us longer than any other single part of the job.
