Coolant System Bleed
x2 on that. In this pix, of a home brew bleeder T, note the bubbles in the drain line. There will be more. I like the ability to have a clear drain line so you can keep mess under control.
Ok kind of what I figured about having to overfill but didn't want to do that until I was sure and nobody had mentioned that before, at least not that I had found in my searches?? So I assume that you then siphon off the extra coolant back down to the cold fill line after you have gotten the flow from the bleed screw??
Thanks again
Thanks again
After filling it back to the line let it run with the heat on, the next couple of morning check the level while it is cold. It may take a little as the air circulates threw the system , but it should not take a lot.
Thanks for that tip. Now I'm going to re-bleed mine.
Still not clear on one thing...after filling the coolant tank until solid flow comes from bleed screw the level in the tank is well above the cold fill line. Do I need to siphon the extra coolant or just go ahead and run it??
No, you should be fine. Most folks fill it to the neck of the cap anyway.
Did you make that contraption? Been thinking about something very similar.
Here is a pic of the custom bleeder that I made with a little inspiration and help from primussucks. I put a hose (I don't remember the exact size) on the bleeder and into a spare milk bottle I have and then bleed it until there is no air coming out. It usually takes a few times before there is no air when I put more coolant in.
