Default coolant woes

hi...i was low on coolant and had the waterfall sound in the passenger side.
i followed the directions here about how to bleed the coolant system...after nearly 20 minutes i still had no heat and coolant was gushing out of the reservoir. at this point i shut the engine off and replaced the reservoir cap.
here is what i did.
1. cold engine
2. removed res cap
3.removed bleed screw
4.poured in coolant until it came out of bleed hole
5.replaced bleed screw
6.filled reservoir to the top
7. started engine with heat on HI

after 20 mins no heat and coolant bubbling ferociously from reservoir.
8. shut off engine
9. replaced res cap
10 restarted engine
11 after a minute or so had heat

whats the story here????

Are you raising the reservoir above the engine level? Pop the tank out of the holder and lift straight up. I had the same problem before lifting the tank up. I think there will still be air in the system if you just leave the tank where it is. Just did this about a month ago, worked good. Hope that helps.

You don't really need to have the engine running to flush the coolant.

saw another post on this subject where the advice given was to leave engine off (cold engine) then remove bleed screw. using a funnel pour coolant into the bleed hole. the level in the reservoir will rise. when up the the "cold full" level, replace the bleed screw.
job done
i now have no waterfall sound and the cab heat is hot before the temp needle reaches its usual resting place...exactly in the middle of the gauge
