I found a huge amount of dirt in the cooling system on my D2 - it took a long time to back flush it all out with a hose. The radiator must have been quite badly clogged up.

Given that a flush is free, I would suggest giving it a go.

To be clear, I ordered it for a 2001 Discovery. In my research of fans, the plastic fans on 2003 and 2004 discovery's are different than 99-02, so it is entirely possible the clutch above from amazon would not fit.

Thanks. I thought that May be the case. I think mine is fine. My problem is leaning more towards a clogged radiator.

The 03/04 clutch and fan are one piece. You can't just change the clutch. You can get an earlier D2 fan and use that clutch on an 03/04.

Awesome. There is an 00 D2 in a local pullapart. I'll grab the fan this week. It will make it easier and cheaper to change the clutch if/when mine ****s the bed.

I have an 03 and have bought a used 03-04 one from ebay from a reputable pull apart and it was defective... they exchanged it and new one is also.... Im going to do the conversion..... my water pump, radiator, upper radiator hose, expansion tank all new or in good condition... I don't overheat but run around 201-204.8 when sitting still... also when Ive been driving and I stop quickly and go check fan, its not so hard to spin... not locked up like Id think it should be or close
