Cooling Rebuild, sourcing parts
So I'm on Rover's North looking at the parts and wondering which ones are common fail items.
For example, does the $100 lower radiator hose setup fail catastrophically? If not, mine appears in good shape and I would rather not buy something that historically does not fail. I've already added the other $10 hoses to the cart, that's cheap maintenance.
I have the LR 180 T-stat added.
I already have a new water pump (Previous owner)
I'm looking for a radiator. Rover North has the aftermarket at $200. Anything better out there?
I added the $15 aftermarket cap from rover's north. Is there a reason to spring $10 more for genuine?
Ultra gauge is on the way.
My fan clutch passes the "spin it by hand and it stops within 1/4 turn test." Is there a reason I need to dump $200 on a new one, or can that wait?
Anything I'm missing?
Thanks.

Fan clutch can wait. Add that performance test to your weekly underhood inspection. New pump and old clutch may not like each other in this forced marriage.
If the Medusa snakehead hose fails, where ya gonna get one on a weekend?
And while Rovers North is a good company, they are by no means the only guys out there.

Savannah, I'm comparing rover north, Atlantic British and the Utah rover parts place. I'm just asking for whatever games in town there are. Rover north won me for the t-stat as its the only place I'm aware of that will ensure the genuine 180 degree stat.
Once I'm off my phone I'll do a search for that aluminum radiator.
And anyone have thoughts on the inline-mod?

First, there is no such thing as a genuine stock 180 degree soft spring t/stat.
One thing you will find, as I did, the radiator from BPoU is stamped, made in Scotland, the original maker, the rest for the most part are cheap quality knock off from here and china.
I bought the BPoU radiator and feel the extra money was worth it.

While not stock for a DII V8, it was stock in a Td5.
