I did not see an arrow on the Meziere housing. Based on some quick research the orientation of the housing doesn't matter since it's 1-1/4" on both ends.

I was able to get some work done last night on this. Picked up an 1/8" drill bit, drill 1 hole at 6 o'clock, and installed the new stat. Then something strange happened, the Rover didn't overheat.
I let it run for about 20 minutes while I checked temps all around with the IR scanner, and everything seemed fine. The hottest temp I saw on the computer was 206, and within 30-45 seconds after seeing that the temp dropped to 186. This was the norm for just about the entire time. The recent issue with the inline stat was all because of not drilling an 1/8" hole at 6 o'clock.
For now everything looks to be in good shape. Thank you to everyone who's help me out on this very long process.

I had the same issue with a couple thermostats, and it was eye opening to see how cool it can run with no thermostat improving the flow of the coolant. When I do hoses again, I am going to switch, and maybe try to figure out a way to make it attractive, as I watch too much Motortrend channel and derive a lot of inspiration from the technicians. Frankly, I consider them artists, and what better form of art than a car?

I think the inline thermostat can be placed in the OEM spot. You’ve gotta replace that hose anyways with an inline setup. Then up top simply install a 90 1.25 vs the T 1.25. Don’t see anything wrong with that setup. It would be nice to have a bleeder on the 90, but it could be placed in the same spot I installed my pyrex glass 1.25 tube to monitor the coolant flow, condition and bubbles. Then when you needed to bleed it simply remove the hose from the shroud (how it’s held into place OEM) raise it & bleed from there.
