Genuine 180 thermostat came tonight. FedEx did not deliver until 6pm, so I am installing in the morning.

I am going to do my final distilled water flush after zerex radiator treatment, and make sure it opens before putting in coolant.

If this SOB doesn’t open I may need counseling.

I'll be in the waiting room already, so we can chat before your shrink appointment

I just got the new 180 from Rovers North in. The car ran at 198 with just distilled water, and the fans were blowing hot air, heater off.

I am going to let her cool, drain, fill with coolant and bleed the system today.

Hopefully, this will do it.

I heard the waterfall sound for the first time ever, but that is just the final flush after the Zerex treatment. So not a huge deal, but at least now I know what to look for

Well, coolant is in. The temp got to 200 and fell to 198. Radiator blew hot air, at least, much more than before. Ambient temp is lower, but it's running 11 degrees cooler than with the prior thermostats.

Going to top off when cool, and test drive. Hopefully, no more bugaboos.

So, just did the test drive, hit 204 in what can only be called Chicago Traffic's best shot. Horrible out there today.

Truck ran at 200/198, and did not really get a chance to get going and see what temps would be during long stretched of driving.

The design of the Thermostat is so restrictive. Kicking myself a little for not doing inline. Idled at 193 with A/C in 95 degree and humid weather with the thermostat bypassed.
