Default cosmetic brake question

How do you keep new calipers and rotors looking nice and shinny and prevent typical rust over on brake parts? Are their any special cleaning products or creams that will help?

You don't want anything on the rotor pad surface. You can use caliper paint on the calipers.

Drive it, use the brakes normally and rotors should stay "shiny". Its ehen it sits for extended periods of time when its starts to rust/discolor.

Calipers: Like mentioned above, you can use caliper paint to give them a shiny enamel look.

It's a Disco! Get some mud on those things

I almost always spray paint the rotor hats black if they're not painted already. Use high temp spray paint.

I care because I don't want my calpers seizing up or my wheels to stick to the hub.... but I already purchased wheel mates! Lol

I suggest straying away from the brake dust shields, all they do is let heat build up next to the caliper. I do this on my S60R because of how ugly rust is. I don't care to do it on my Disco but it's cheap, easy, and makes it look a lot better.

Just paint your rotors. I'm sure you'll be fine.

If you dont want your rims to stick to the hub coat the hub with high temp anti seize.
The reason they stick is because they are dissimilar metals, alloy rims and steel, the constant heating/cooling of the two metals causes them to "become one", any kind of barrier between them will prevent this from happening.
Same if you used steel rims, wont happen.
If you dont want your calipers to seize up then dont drive it anywhere.
The part of the caliper you are worried about has zero to do with a caliper seizing up.
There is nothing wrong with painting the calipers and what not, but keep in mind if it was a real issue they would come that way from the factory.
