Yeah, unfortunately that video is Bravo Sierra (BS). It gives no advice about how to release and reconnect the electrical connector, which is BY FAR the more difficult and time-consuming part of the job.

I think I agree with Richard, who says replace it now and keep the old one (in the truck) as a spare.

The CKPS in my truck failed nearly nine years and 65,000 miles ago. I was on the way home from a January Boy Scout trip with six scouts on board, mid-day Sunday an hour from home. The truck got towed and a parent came and rescued us with his minivan. I went back the next day and installed the new CKPS in a building at the towing company's lot. Maybe I should replace mine again proactively.

As longs as there are no codes or you can start the engine without problems I wouldn't touch it. Nonetheless, I carry a spare, because you can get stranded if they are failing and they are small and not that expensive.

I asked this same question as OP about replacement two years before my CPS crapped out on me in the middle of Atlanta traffic during the summer. That situation sucked!

I totally agree with these guys.
If you don't know how old the CPS is, replace it now with a Bosch #ERR-735 or NAPA's Echlin #CSS9280 (supposedly a Bosch brand in NAPA box) as preventive maintenance and peace of mind.

Thanks! Planning for a few days of maintenance during the holidays. I will order the part and add this to the list.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but only replace with a Bosch Unit.
