Default Crank Position Sensor

I am approaching 150k, and am wondering if I should proactively put on a new crank position sensor.

What do you guys think? Be proactive or if it ain't broke don't fix it?

I'd get one to keep in the center console if it were me. They're only like $30 or $35; cheap insurance to have around considering it's half the price of a tow bill.

I'm a big fan of preventative maintenance, so I'd replace it.
IDK if you have a garage to do repairs, but better to get after it now before WINTER.

Just a headsup, the last CPS I did the connector was F'd up but you can get a replacement if you need one. Standard Motor Products(SMP) makes one for about $25.00 (it's in the pic ) And the SMP sensor is good quality and not a ton of money (like $46.00 @ Rauto).
I've used these for years. Good Luck!

Haven't used those SMP sensors, but the Duralast (house brand) CMP at AutoZone is actually a factory Bosch in a Duralast box.

Not sure about the other auto parts store a, but worth checking.

You can buy the Genuine BOSCH sensor from Autozone for around $70, they also have Duralast brand for around $60,

Rockauto has Bosch for 41.99, and Standard Motor products for 42.99. I was impressed with my Standard Motor Products coils, should I give their CPS a go?

I've never had an issue with SMP, Bosch not the same experience.
It's your call.

Just keep one in the truck in the back pocket in the rear.
No sense messing with it now.
