I had mine done at regular shop, same run around from the exhaust shops, too much or they did not want to do it. $100.00 CDN and they dropped the pipe and replaced a couple studs.

Same here. Had it happen to the original Y pipe a few years ago - flange fully separated from the pipe. I took it off and brought it to a local muffler shop - $20 to weld it back together. Held fine for many years until I replaced the Y pipe (cats) last year.

I got quoted $800 to do something similar in San Mateo. There's a muffler and exhaust shop in Daly City that does good work, but I'm not sure how much they charge. Can't remember the place off the top of my head.

Where did you find CA cats??
