does anybody know were the crank sensor is on a 2003 disco. II 4.6 v8. i looked everywere for it and all i see is the knock sensor.can someone give me more detail of were the crank sensor is please.

 

disco mike are you there please help me. does the 2003 disco.II 4.6 V8 have a crank sensor? i am looking all over for it but i cant seem to find it. i found the knock sensor but i cant find the crank sensor can you please guide me to were it is at like in a real detailed way about it.

 

I sent the link last night, but here it is again. Find the DII download, this IS the workshop repair manual.
Download it and look up under engine manegment "crank sensor" and you will find how to replace it.

spike555 you did not tell me it was on the drivers side between the fire wall and the engine.i found it thanks to disco mike. both of you are a great help.best to get it from underneath than from the top,thank you so much mike. i will let you know how it all worked out in a couple of days. meanwhile i will still be popping in and out on this site since i find it so useful.thanks again dave and kathy.

From the looks of it in the repair manual it is on the drivers side, at the back of the engine about half way down. It has a heat shield over it.

after going back and looking at our notes Mr o.i realized how wrong i was. you did tell me were it was.i was looking for it at the passengers side,not the drivers side.gosh Mr .o i feel so stupid. i just couldn't quite get the connection.thanks MR.O I'm sure you get callers like me all the time.
