Default Cross Member bolts

First, I love that this site exists. I have rarely posted because I don't typically need to: a quick search of the forums usually gives me the detailed answers I need. I don't comment often because, I'm a little lower than a novice when it comes to working on the Disco.

So here's the deal:

I just replaced the tranny on my 2001 Disco II (didn't service the front driveshaft and it snapped at the U). All of the bolts broke off both cross members when I was extracting them. I've spoken with Rovers North and British Atlantic and apparently, not only do they not sell the bolts, they don't know the required size.

Any ideas as to the correct bolt size to secure both cross members?

It's possible, but not guaranteed, that it's FT108207. M8x20mm

are you take about the rivet nuts that are in the frame to hold the frame support or the actual cross member that hold the tranny in place?

the cross member that runs under the tranny, left to right, and the cross member that runs under the transfer case, left to right. Both bolt directly to the underside of the frame.

I have mine out at home right now. I will measure one up and will let you know the size.

Did you snap the heads off? How did you get the ends out?

I snapped 6 of 8 off while removing mine (so I have two whole ones left, one on each side). I tried a ratchet and ended up using an impact wrench. I was planning on drilling them out with a left hand drill bit, they trying a screw extractor. If that didn't work, then re-tapping the holes or just leaving the cross member off as a last resort.

They are M8x20mm with a 1.25 thread pitch and a 10mm flange head.

Fortunately, when they snapped, they broke the nut free, as well. I think there might be one or two nuts still welded to the cross member, but I can make quick work of that.
