Cross thread my spark plug well #7
Step away. Start again tomorrow. Yes you can disconnect the SAI but make sure you have a properly sized crows foot and don’t overbend the tubing.
if this is not a daily driver, take your time.

i was thinking of disconnecting it from right at the spark plug well and slighting hammering it out of the way.
Quick update: removed the secondary air tubbing, aligned the back tap (slowly carved the new threads), and Inserted the plug.
now seeing that there’s hope, I pulled the plug back out and started the engine for about 5 seconds to alow the cylinder to push out any debris.
reinserted the plug by hand and tightened it up with a ratchets. The plug took a few mins to align but it’s in...
I ran my Foxwell and no codes except my Mass Air flow since I haven’t reinstalled it.
ill test drive it Thursday.
thanks for all the help.

Put the air intake back on and cranked it up, I cleared the code and drove it to work which is about five miles.
im noticing a slight idle issue (shakes down alittle while at stops) got it up to about 70mph and didn’t notice any misfiring.
no codes have popped up which I’m sort of hoping for so I can tweak my work.
could it be small amounts of grease that got stuck in the cylinder?
im actually hoping it’s my #4 coil since that was the cylinder misfiring in the first place.
i have the disco outside idling for a few minutes to see if it triggers any codes.

Well it’s been a few days and over 100miles of city and hwy miles.... she’s running strong but I still notice very small misfires at idle. So small that it won’t throw codes. I’ve even floored her several times trying to push her... but no issues.
could my MAFS be the culprit?

finally got a code.... misfire cylinder 4 the same cylinder misfiring in the first place.
its such a small misfire that the check engine light won’t come on. I decided to hook up my reader anyway and read two pending codes. (I didn’t even know that was a thing)
could it be the coil considering I placed a new plug in? It’s such a light misfire that I’m stumped.
I would suspect a plug wire before the coil(assuming the plug is good). What does the plug look like? Oily, black, light brown? Is the gap correct(It would need to be way off to misfire).
And it would be unlikely(but not impossible) for a 4 coil to fail on only one.
Have you checked the compression in that cylinder?

if that fails I’m gonna replace the coil (#4 coil wire only)
I have not checked the compression.
