Cruise Control Issue
grab the piece of metal the pedal is attached to. Run your hand up it and you will run into the switches. I am 6'5" as well, and it isa little tricky to see up there. The wiring harness connects to the switches.
Alright, I found the switch. Thanks okdisco! That was not exactly my idea of a switch so I made it a lot harder than it needed to be. So I found that it was depressed, I pulled it back out (not very easily) and it clicks. Put it back in and I heard it going back to it's original position when I let off the brake. Is the switch faulty, should it move easily?
Thanks a ton!

The plungers sometimes get stuck in. Pull it back out like you did the first time with the pedal pressed in. Leave it out and release the pedal. Should work. The plunger being pushed in makes the switch think your pedal is pressed down.....
Sorry to be a pain.
I did depress the pedal, pulled the switch back out, and as soon as I let the pedal go I heard the switch click back in about three or four times. I'm guessing it's not supposed to do this.
Any thoughts?

No pain at all. When you start the truck, are you brake lights always on? You can get a new switch. They aren't too much, and I keep a spare just in case.... If it fails the other way, you can't shift out of park...
No brake lights are on. I am just wondering it the switch is supposed to move smoothly in and out or if it's supposed to click? I will probably buy a new one just in case, but now I am not sure this is my problem.
Brake light switch? I didnt read the whole thread because it is old...
Come on Pilsner, you've been around awhile, you know that Atlantic British has EVERY thing you could ever want or need for your truck.

I'm having the same problem... I took my switch out and discovered that it clicks 4 times from the outer most setting to the inner most setting and is very catchy the whole way. Also is extremely difficult to pull back out. Is this character of a normal switch or do I need to get a new one. I figured that it's supposed to work similar to the cruise master switch. Press in and it locks in, press in again and it releases. Is this so?
Your talking the brake light switch? It is a on/off switch, press the brake pedal in, turn the switch on, release the pedal, turn the brake lights off.
Brake lights come on and the cruise disengages.
The brake light switch is cheap.
