Default Cruise control shuts off

96 Disco with 140k, Cruise will work fine when first started and continues for about 20 miles or so then kicks out and will not reset. Checked and replaced the hoses, system holds vacumn. Any other things I should check? Relays?

Check your brake switch. The little plunger on mine was not pulled out all of the way when I got it, so I had constant brake lights. There is one for the cruise that can be pushed in as well..Make sure it is out all of the way.

If you have a manual trans there maybe an interlock switch on the clutch pedal too so the engine doesn't try and explode when the clutch is disengaged? I know Honda's have this. I've not looked on the Disco though?

No, it is an automatic. Seems more to be someting like a relay orECU problem perhaps as it works fine till everything gets warmed up real well. then it will kick out and not reset till the next time i drive it.
