Default Cruise Control Surging

OK, fixed the cruise control, it was a cracked tube right at the vacuum canister under the hood. Now it works fine EXCEPT it surges. Set it at 70 and it will rnge from 69 to 72 or 73 , no specific rhythm, just randomly does it.

Anybody know what's up?

Recheck all your vacuum lines for leaks. Use something like liquid tape to make sure the lines aren't leaking around the fittings. If you don't find anything then search the forum for test procedure for the cruise control ECU.

Are you having any surging when you drive without the cruise control?

I was thinking that if the throttle surged when not using the cruise control the throttle position sensor could be your problem. Since it runs fine without the cruise I would rule that out. Check for vacuum leaks again and let us know what you find.

There is a TSB on the cruise control, the cruise computer needs to be remapped.
Covered under warranty.
If you are out of warranty then they should fix it for cheap if not free.
