Default Cv Joints going bad

Hi I have a 2000 Discovery II with 170,000 miles. The cv joints started clicking recently. I have heard a loud pop before while offroading. The question is where is the best place to buy new cv joints. Dealer, Atlantic British, Rovers north? I think some places sell aftermarket cv's, are these ok? Rovers north wants $50 for a new gaiter(boot) ouch!

Thank you,
Willie

Roverlandparts.com has some good used ones for you for about $175. If you have a D2 and need the passenger front axle and joint I have one really cheap.

As much as I suggest Roverland, don't buy used CV joints, you are just asking for problems. Check prices at the more common Rover sites and consider doing a Google search for after market joints.
Have you ever had your front drive shaft rebuilt?

Mike, I see your point about buying new. I have bought 2 from them for my D1 and they have been great with no problems. The price beat the $450 for each one that I was finding for them, so it just was not in my budget.

OP, you can look and see what you find and then go from there.

I found a remanufactured CV joint with axle and boot for $78 at schucks/Oreilly auto parts. Has anyone used one of these? http://shop.oreillyauto.com/productd...pe=945&PTSet=A
