you dont fix a cracked block, ARP makes a head stud kit but i dont think it will help

The head bolts were torqued exactly as you described. Problem happened during 3rd stage of torqueing --thats when the hole stripped.

My mechanic is very good, but is still researching how to tap the hole. We're not going to heli-coil.

Many thanks for your reply, and appreciate any thoughts.

Don't know why one reply mentioned "you can't fix a cracked block". We don't know if block is cracked---and hoping head gasket repair will solve problems.
