First you need all new head bolts, they are stretch bolts and should only be used once.
Torque or procedure is = 15 ft lbs in the required sequence, then 90 deg turn in sequence and another 90 deg turn in sequence.

Don't even attempt to do this job unless you have a shop manual or Rave CD are it will turn out to be a mess.
There are a few other steps, not listed in any of the manuals that should also be followed to save you some grief later, if interested send me your number and I'll walk you thru them.

I have the torque specs and sequence now but (Disco Mike), you mentioned that there are a few steps not listed in the Rave Manual that are important. I would love to know these steps before I screw everything up for myself, but I do not know how to send you a message with my number so you can walk me through the steps. I am so new to this site I am still learning. Thanks again

It would be nice if Mike posted these few other steps not listed in any manual, so others will know about them when replacing head gaskets. It would be a waste of time for someone to have to post "Replacing head gaskets: need to contact DM to find out other steps" then wait for a call from Mike before beginning, every time a member is replacing the head gaskets, which is almost a weekly occurrence here.

People have been telling him that for years. Save your breath. It's an ego trip and you can't change people.
