Does anyone know if the D1 grille and D2 pre-facelift grilles are the same? I ordered a radiator muff from Exmoor for D2 and unfortunately it doesn't fit my 02 D2 so just wondering if I need this item???

94-99 D1 & 99-02 D2 grills are not alike. The D1 has a square bottom and the earlier D2 has a curved bottom. However with that being said I don't see why that cover wouldn't attach the same way if it's just hanging or mounted to the top. The width and top design is nearly identical.

I myself have done research into radiator muffs to fix a P0126 (low coolant issue with my inline thermostat during the winter). Sorry you to hear Exmoor supplied the D1 instead of the D2 muff.

Exmoor specifies this muff for "only fit Facelift Discover 2 Models Made between July 2002 and 2004. It will NOT fit the earlier Pre Facelift Discovery 2 Models, 1998 - June 2002." For some reason, Exmoor no longer offers an option for the pre-facelight (1999-2002).

The supplier got back to me and said that the item I purchased definitely will not fit my pre-facelift D2 and the D1 radiator muff will not fit either. Its a really great quality item so I may see if its feasible to fix with the sewing machine.
