Default D1 into a D2

I have a chance to pick up a mint condition D2, the only problem is the engine is seized. I have a barely hanging on body D1 but the engine is strong. Can I put the D1 engine into the D2? I am sure I will need the puter and what nots with the D1 engine.

yeah, but you need to check your states emission laws..actually it might be a EPA law..that you can't put an engine in a vehicle if the engine is older than the vehicle.

As long as your state does not have emissions testing you can do it.
BUT you will need the ECU from the donor.

Also depends on what year your D1 is. You would also only be able to use the block from the D1, none of the manifolds and some sensors because the D2 is a Bosch managed system, the D1 isn't.
