Default D2 AC Blower Motor Question

So my AC blower motor has been working intermittently. I clipped the brown/red and black connector to the blower motor and spliced the wires to make sure it wasn't the connector.

Before I try the fuse box solder fix I tested voltage with the brown/red and black wires connected to blower motor. Here is what I found:

Engine running with AC off I get 13.5DVC

Engine running with AC on Full I get 0DVC

Engine off, testing just wires coming from fuse (disconnected wires running to blower motor) 12.4DVC

It will work every once in a while on all speeds. Turn the car off and turn it back on again and it won't work.

Is this a case of the fuse block failing when I turn the power on?

Any suggestions what to check?

Thanks!

Pulled the internal fuse block and didn't see any broken solder joints. Reflowed anyways and still can't get the AC blower motor to kick on.

Any help would be appreciated!

Did you check the blower motor resistor pack? It's to the left of the blower motor.
I've seen these burn up due to leaves and trash getting caught in the cooling fins.

My blower motor stopped working during the summer. Checked the fuses (OK). Checked continuity in the fuse block (OK). Replaced with a resistor taken from another Disco at the local wrecker. Took out the blower motor and direct a direct 12V power test (OK). Checked the two relays located to the right of the blower motor under the dash. Turns out one had corroded insides and the relay contacts stopped working. Replaced it and blower motor is working now. Good luck.

I'm having HVAC issues now too. My blower motor only comes on sometimes, but it's at a low speed, say 1 or 2. Then it'll shut off. Pressing the fan speed on the dash does absolutely nothing even when I can feel air being blown out of the vents. Temp portion works as I can feel air temp difference from the vents.

Any ideas? Is it the head unit?
