D2 Buying help
So I'm usually over at the LR3 forums, but in the process of acquiring a D2 and would love some of you guys to chime in. The title is "Totaled Reconstructed", the guy who bought it works at a indi shop, has some cosmetic damage from where the previous owner ran it off the road, but all damaged "mechanical" parts were replaced. SO here is whats been done so far:
GoodYear Wrangler Kevlar tires(including spare),
LR3 wheels w/proper adapter ring set and lug nuts,
ARB bumper w/switched IPF lights,
Repairs done over last couple years:
NEW 4.6L V8 w/high hat liners, 137K original mi. (about 10K on new motor)
NEW transfer case
Rebuilt transmission
NEW motor/trans mounts
Borla stainless exhaust
O2 sensors
Battery
Water pump
Thermostat
Serpentine belt
Plugs/wires
Ignition coils
Coolant expansion tank/cap
Radiator
Newly Replaced:
NEW Rear wheel hub assembly
NEW full set of lug nuts
NEW front drive shaft
NEW rear drive shaft w rotoflex coupler
NEW throttle body defroster
Getting it for $8000, What do you think/concerns? Its not mine yet, so would love for some people to chime in!
Thanks!
Eric

The engine alone is worth almost 4k, why run away? Just curious for the reason behind your responses, the indi shop selling it is a very reputable shop also. Gotten lots of work on my LR3 done there.
Would love some more details to your answers though!
Thanks for your time guys

because if what you say is true, this guy spent over 15k on new parts, not counting the price of the truck or the HUGE labor charges but you can have it for 8k? very nice guy.
i have a couple trucks he can rebuild, if i can only pay him back half of what he puts into them. jmho
plus you still have a reconstructed title
new engine 6k
new transfer case 2k
rebulit tranny 1.5k
arb bumper 1.5 k
bora exhaust 1k
misc engine 1k
tires & wheels 1.5k

The rebuild was done before it was in his possession. Only parts replaced by him were:
Rear wheel hub assembly,
full set of lug nuts,
front drive shaft,
rear drive shaft rotoflex coupler,
throttle body defroster,
And a oil change lol
Everything else was done before the accident by a different owner, with recipes of course

Because he can I guess lol he wasn't even selling it. He has three discos right now. I just asked how much he would let it go for because he was bragging about it when I stopped in the shop the day before. Think he paid 2k for it, then did the work listed above. But I'm pretty sure he wants to keep it more than sell it
Oh and the cost to move the title from "totaled" to "rebuilt"
