If you use the index system in the RAVE, it's an easy assumption that some of them are probably earlier editions, maybe kept for reference but not linked because the later editions have updated information.
As I already said, I think the 4-4.5mm specified in the manual for the cruise cable is way too loose. I have mine about as tight as the throttle cable -- basically no slack at all. There's a little bit of surging at some speeds but nothing drastic. If it bothered me, I would play with the adjustment until it improved.
yes, I had some work done two years ago to cure a running lean condition I could not find. The guy had to remove the enture intake and replace a gasket. I guess he never tightened up the CC cable. I rarely used it before because it would surge, but now I need to give it a test to see if it works smoothly or not
Got it working, but I have to do one extra step before using. Because I have LEDs in the taillights with built in resistors (canbus compliant) I have to briefly touch the brakes to "charge" the resisters before the CC will kick in. Other than that, works a treat!
Hi Art H, I too have replaced all the bulbs in my D2 with LED. I also have the resistors to correct the fast blinking after the install. So, to get the CC to work, just hit the brakes first, then turn on the CC? Thanks.
I got all LEDs and resistors added also to my brake and both turn signals.
Your CC should work with the resistor in parallel to one of the brake LEDs since you have to brake to shift into gear.

The cruise control unit is completely separate from any of the engine vacuum lines. It's pretty simple to remove the entire CC assembly and replace the couple of small vacuum lines on it.
Also, remember that you have to pull the Set button towards you. Pushing it does nothing.
troubleshooting my cruise control (and horn) not working but have a question about the steering wheel set button operation. I understand you pull it towards you to set it however on mine if I push it lightly it returns back to normal but if I push it a bit harder it clicks and stays in place. None of the other left or right steering wheel buttons do this so wondering if I possibly have a broken switch from previous owner mashing the button too hard. Thanks.
