Default D2 Ghetto Repair - Hood cowl window vent JAK000010PMA

Alright,

so the cowl has a crack down the middle. Which is likely where the water is seeping into the passenger front footwell.

being on a budget (other car project is jumping priority). I decided to use the Dupli-Color bed liner spray. It turned out as expected. And the crack/gap is now sealed.

pics are from tape up. To Tape being removed. Took 30 minute to apply.

Taped off and bed liner spray applied

Another angle

Removing the masking tape

Passenger side. Light reflections at Dusk, showing the expected wrinkles

Summary:
2” wide masking tape roll.
2” wise gorilla tape (covering crack/gap)
1 can of dupli color bed liner.
1 small tube of black window/door gasket.*
(used the gasket as the foundation of the gap/crack, then put the gorilla tape over it 20 minutes later after it settled). Then applied the bed liner..

$30.00 repair until I can order the replacement cowl & new retro D1 wiper arms.

I'm all about doing it up ghetto/barrio/urban style as a long temporary fix. lol
On my long list of things to do is use black Flex-Tape to seal up the separated pieces until l can find a replacement cowl.

Default Flex tape you say?

Would using the flex tape require removing the window cowl? I thought about doing it proper, and bed lining it.. but figured do that as a replacement with the wiper arms to the D1

im lazy and don’t want to have to upkeep it over the times.. 😅
