so the cowl has a crack down the middle. Which is likely where the water is seeping into the passenger front footwell.
being on a budget (other car project is jumping priority). I decided to use the Dupli-Color bed liner spray. It turned out as expected. And the crack/gap is now sealed.
pics are from tape up. To Tape being removed. Took 30 minute to apply.

Summary:
2” wide masking tape roll.
2” wise gorilla tape (covering crack/gap)
1 can of dupli color bed liner.
1 small tube of black window/door gasket.*
(used the gasket as the foundation of the gap/crack, then put the gorilla tape over it 20 minutes later after it settled). Then applied the bed liner..
$30.00 repair until I can order the replacement cowl & new retro D1 wiper arms.

I'm all about doing it up ghetto/barrio/urban style as a long temporary fix. lol
On my long list of things to do is use black Flex-Tape to seal up the separated pieces until l can find a replacement cowl.
Would using the flex tape require removing the window cowl? I thought about doing it proper, and bed lining it.. but figured do that as a replacement with the wiper arms to the D1
im lazy and don’t want to have to upkeep it over the times.. 😅
