Hi Folks ,
Purchased a Headlight from a breakers , now it’s arrived , light is clean , the only problem I found is that the plastic plate that sits on top of the headlight & is held together with 2 X Philips screws, these are rounded and and the plate is very insecure.
Its previous owner has obviously attempted to remove these screws and failed miserably. Now my question is how can I get these screws out with out damaging the light & I'm assuming I need this plate in place for it to be able to secure the headlight to the slam panel.
In two minds to contact the seller as am not happy with the item and the condition of the plate, but at the same time not wanting to fall out with them as they have been helpful over the years.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
TIA

I think I understand what you are asking. Can you post a picture to be sure? Those two screws get stuck in the headlight housing due to corrosion. One option is to slot them with a dremel and try to remove but more than likely they will pull out the metal insert in the housing. Once the screw plus metal insert is out you can remove the insert with a vise and reinstall with gorilla glue or another adhesive of your choice. Get new screws and coat them with anti seize for the reinstall.
