Looks fantastic!

Hey, if you want *ideas* for Disco 2 parts... How about a METAL windshield cowl trim instead of the brittle black plastic piece that everyone wants $255 for?

IMO, you can technically remove many of those ribs, also make them farther apart. There isn't much movement at that piece that you would need to move more than maybe an inch...your piece looks like it would move much more than that.

Also, for quality sake, or feel, keep the material rubbery feeling, not a plastic feel.

Another thing you could do, is just remove your air box and add a K&N style filter.

We are removing some ribs and changing their profile.

In our opinion it should be flexible enough to install/remove without too much fuss.

the feel will be the same as the other intake components, more plastic than rubber(think tie rod boot). A rubbery feel could be nice, but the fear is that if the parti is too soft and one has a snorkel the suction force could pull it in slightly cutting some of the flow. The part needs to be thin because there is not much room in there.

As mentioned before this will come with an oval silicone gasket(self sdhesive) at the elbow to fender union and possibly an extra for the opposite side when fitting a snorkel.

In CA we can’t pass smog with the K&N hot air intake. Also we want this to be the other side of a waterproof intake when adding a snorkel as we feel the bulk of our sales will be to enthusiasts that either have a snorkel or plan on buying one.

If that was the case: why do anything at all. With the K&N cone type filter you will get all the dirt and hot air from the engine compartment: all things we are tying to avoid.

If you have a raised air intake you have completely negated its purpose by doing as you suggest.
