D2 New part development sanity check
Just know that once they figure out what it is; they will offer it anyone. And if they know you are a rover shop and that it is a rover part even if they do not know what it is: they will contact other rover parts companies.
I have been offered my competitor's parts and have seen my parts offered to others sources. I no longer go to China or India for that reason. I spent 10s of thousands of dollars developing parts only to have my parts offered to a competitor for the same per piece cost that I was paying.
Be careful.

Abran, that looks great, I wish you every success. In fact it looks the DB's.
Have you tried China, Thailand, Korea etc and India for production as generally they are far cheaper and they should recover some of the mould investment depending on how many they produce. I'd set the mould price at £5K ($7K USD) or less for the US but based upon UK prices, they certainly know how to charge there.

I have been developing product in china since 96’. I lived there for 5 years, 2007-2012.
In China, you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap price, you get cheap product.
I’ll update once I have some news!

Update.
I know this is taking a long time, but in product development its best to make sure all design, materials, and details are perfect before launching.
We have decided to go with the costlier injection mold design, its just better.
The part will be high temp silicone and will have all of the features of the prototype that I posted pics of with a few revisions.
The tube will be more of a rubber type material than plastic, but stiff enough to handle the vacuum created by the engine. We went with this as our tests showed it is easier to make it waterproof when it has some malleability.
The intake tube will come with 2 silicone gaskets(one on each side of the fender so the snorkel side can be made watertight as well) and 2 worm drive clamps.
We should have the first production sample in hand at the end of May. Product for sale sometime in August.
Thank you for all of the feedback and support!
