Dash Brake Light Stays on - just cold?
Released the hand brake on my D2, but light in dash stays on. I do not feel any braking when I move it, and I drove it a little. So, where is the switch that turns the light off/on? Can I adjust or clean it, or is it just cold?
the light serves 2 functions...........1. to let you know when there is insufficient fluid in the reservoir, and 2. to let you know that the brake lever has been applied. and therefore 2 "switches" one at the reservoir and the other I believe is attached to the handle hidden by the center console. so...yes by all means check your brk fluid, make sure that the handle is all the way off, and then maybe the cable hasn't come all the way back to the off position...and that means getting under the truck and checking out the cable situation
You have to remove part of the console to check/adjust the e-brake and switch.
But as already mentioned, check your brake fluid level, you brake pads may be getting thin and then the level starts to drop.
