Default Dash removal

So the one thing that makes me mad is when people decide to cover up problems with these trucks instead of just fixing it!!! It f**king lazy. Anyways.... I am pretty sure my traction control lights and ABS lights are on but it appears previous owner took the dash off and took the bulbs out. I tested the HDC and it seemed to work but hills in pensacola are not very big. I just wanted some advice on what to be careful with removing the dash to fix whatever the PO did whether it be removing the bulbs etc. I know if I disconnect something the miles will blink showing that it was disconnected for a while which would scare anyone that might buy it. I have no intentions of ever selling it but you never know. Any advice would be helpful. I just want to verify the problems so I can tackle the amigos. Thanks

You should be able to disconnect battery and begin your search. Just make sure that you do not unplug your gauge cluster with battery still hooked up its a rare event that your odometer will suffer the flashing symptoms but if it does you would will just end up having to find a reputable shop with the correct computer to reprogram your odometer back to your bcu it can be done I just went threw this ordeal.

The DII uses LED's not light bulbs, they are soldered into the circuit board.
I'm sure they can be replaced if a guy could solder and had a Radio Shack near by to get new LED's.

Yeah I talked to lrsilver about this and the PO smashed the LED behind TC and ABS. Didnt think about soldering the led's back in though. I will have to talk with a friend about this to see if he can do it. I have only soldered a couple things in my time. Thanks for the tip.

I am also very curious to see what happens here. I have the exact same issue in my truck. All the LEDs behind the three amigos are not smashed but completely gone. I would like to get them working again without replacing the cluster.
