I found this 2 wire jumper connector behind my 2001 Disco 2s driver’s side headlight.
Maybe it’s the same C0653 connector for the DRL resistor?

Great photos!

The instructions say to "Disconnect and discard wire jumper at connector C0653." That might be it.

I'll have my resistor here in a couple days and I'll test it.

Thx
Sean

Follow up...
I fitted the required XBL100200 DRL resistor ($15 eBay) inside the LH headlight area of my 2001 Disco 2, removed the unneeded jumper wire and connected the resistor, and then reprogrammed the BCU for DRL with my Nanocom.
I now have DRL on the front headlights with no rear brake light illumination.

JUKE179r

Thank you for your post.

I have had a DRL resistor I picked up from a wrecked truck for years.

Somehow I did not see that connector with the jumper.

Plugged it in and now have perfect working DRL! So happy.

On my 04 I just enabled it with a Hawkeye, no resistors or relays needed.

The resistor was already installed then.

Here's the deal with DRL on D2 in US market:

-- 03 & 04 have a different system/ wiring circuits for DRL's (and different headlamps). They can just be activated without adding equipment
-- 00 to 02 you must add in the resistor module (big silver box about 4-5" wide), remove the jumper wire to plug it in behind drivers headlight, as the poster above did, then enable with Nanocom.
-- 99's in US market came with the resistor and just require the Nanocom or similar to activate.

I have LED bulbs in, will try and get a pic later. It's just the 2 headlight bulbs that light up at full brightness.

So many ways to go with this question ...

Pics of my truck when it's turned on are NSFW.
