Default Decided to...

Well guys I was on the verge of selling my '03 Disco but have decided to spend some money on it and make it bad***

My plan of attack is to get the 2" terrafirma lift, ARB bumper, warn winch, new BFGs Mudterrain, complete 100k service, new front drive shaft and we'll see what pops up or breaks in between all of that.

What do you guys think?

Also, at the moment sometimes when I shift to D, my M & S Mode lights will start flashing and a sluggish takeoff will happen. But if I shift directly to 3rd or 2nd it will take off just fine. What do y'all think that is? Is it my gear selector in the tranny?

on the M&S do you really have a 2nd and 3rd gear or just 3rd gear, the reason I ask is ecu fault is 3rd gear only. you should have your battery and charging system checked anything under 13.5 volts the tranny ecu sees as a fault.

Your gear changes are more than likely caused by a bad xyz sensor on the top of the transmission from the symptoms you describe. However get the charging and battery system tested for free at your local auto parts store to rule that out. If the truck isn't getting the correct amount of voltage it will cause the m+s light to come on and the d to flash on the dash. This can also be caused by the xyz sensor though.

a bad ground point will also cause it, you want to check everything before replace a $600 XYZ switch.

Thanks for all the help guys. The battery is pretty new so i'm suspecting the xyz switch. Is that something I can replace myself? I'm pretty handy and have fixed other things on the vehicle

Get the alternator tested first. Your local auto parts shop can do it for free. If the trucks amps drop to low it will cause the lights on the dash you are getting. I'm not saying it's not the xyz switch but I would hate for you to put one in and then have to get an alternator too.
