Deleting the chimer
My chimer goes off over 20 mph because of some work on my rear suspension removing the air bag pump. I would like to know where this chimer is at so I can disable it. It only goes off when I am driving and I don't want to hit a tree looking for it. I know it is in a circuit board and takes special care. Anybody know where that thing is?
Yup, yup...or borrow any of the Disco programmers such as Hawkeye, TestBook, Lynx, Foxwell, et al to turn it off.
I went through the RAVE and believe I have the easiest answer. On pg 827-828 is a diagram of the SLABS ECU. The connector C0655 has a pin no. 7 which is the output to the audible warning chime.
I will just clip it.

Clever!
Plus the time to look up the diagram, and you haven't damaged any factory wiring that way.
Yeah on LR's I tend to leave the wiring alone. Older RRC/D1's were no goes if they were ever touched by Best Buy, or a bad audio/video/alarm shop. I don't care how nice the LR was I walked away.
The D2 I have sitting at my house (huge project for a friend) had a darn DVD installed and funny they tied it into the HVAC for power and guess what doesn't work right?
