In the old days people put bannana peels and sawdust in manual transmissions to sell instead of repair cars.
Did that actually make the car appear to run better?

It hid the missing teeth on gears in the tranny. I mentioned HG to the OP because so many Discos are sold becuase of overheat problems. He may be lucky and just need plugs/wires and a hub. But would you dump a Disco if that is all it needed?

Ive been thinking bout getting the rsw solution abs amigo scanner to make sure its my hub, a buddy of mine put in a use hub at a good price and still the humming sound! It humming always get louder if I gently steer to the left so I assumed it was my left hub.

It gets louder the opposite side you steer because it is putting more force on that wheel. So if you steer left and it gets louder it is most likely your right hub/bearing.

I once left a wrench on the crank pulley after replacing the head gasket on my car back in college. When I cranked the engine the pulley came off and I ended up having to rebuild the whole cylinder head so that term is relative.

Just go through the write ups and work down the list. I'd suggest you also rebuild the front prop shaft because they have a tendency to fail and make a nice big hole in the transmission. Don't worry you can get your current shaft rebuilt for around $120.

Fortunately for we of the shade tree persuasion, many owners don't know any better.
