Boss, I would go with the CDL first, and see how that works for you. It was stupid of Land Rover to remove it from Discoveries.
If you have a TD5 you're not doubt in a Land Rover rich environment (you don't say where you are) but you should be able to pick one up from a breakers for pretty cheap.

Is it a big job to fit a CDL t/case or is it a job better given to someone that has done it before?

Also, do you happen to know the part No of the CDL part of the t/case so I can startt looking.

I know where there is a D2 TD5 with fire damage but it's manual not an auto like mine, is it the same t/case on the manual model?
You can order this diff. from Ashcroft, it is not a hard job and well worth the difference.

Mike

I have been talking to Ashcroft today, looks like we will be in the UK in April so I will be getting the gear off them at the same time. Only problem is, I have very little time to fit it myself and might end up getting Ashcroft to install it, that way I can be 100% sure its done right.

If you were me and you had the cash to layout on TT's for the front & back, would you get it done at the same time?

This Disco is used for my business and from time to time we need to drive up mountains to work on our radio masts. The Disco was bought just for this job in mind but if we have had rain for more than a few days the Disco will not look at going up the mountain and we end up hooking it up to the back of an old MF 135 and pulling it up.

If I were you and the disco is taking 2nd place to a van. Sell it ! buy a cheep Disco 1 thats been prepared for off road I.E. Lifted, Big rubber boots and lockers and sell the MF135.. unless you need the PTO.. Then maybe go for a S3 with one fitted You will have no worries with any mud and get more places than an old 135 even if it has the ROPS removed..
Just a thought
