Making fun of n00bs is easy. But why is helping out so hard?

people have tried to help him out. unfortunately, this particular noob made his bed, burned it, tried to burn other people's beds and now he has to sleep in the scattered ashes.

It's not at all that he's a noob. This forum is very welcoming, accommodating and patient with noobs. We ain't like Discoweb (nor do we want to be).

But this guy isn't just a noob. He's a dweeb. And I'm not all that certain he's really a noob. His posts resemble those of another dweeb who popped up here but whom we haven't seen since March. A dweeb who was also into farkles (Thanks mollusc!), at least on another Rover forum.

I was wondering the same thing?...

It's my understanding that 'farkle' is a risk taking game, mainly played by macho men on their birthdays after the candles are blown out and all of the cake has been eaten. I have never heard it used to describe the 'bedazzling' of a Land Rover

i picked up the term from a bike forum i've been on for years. the long-time users use it to refer to any and all accessories -- functional or not -- that one attaches to one's mechanical toys. a new windshield is a farkle. so are luggage cases. and auxilliary lights. and gremlin bells.
plenty of opportunities for farkles on a land rover!

I come to this forum to give help and get help on fixing Land Rovers.
Discoweb used to be great but now it's full of political arguments by keyboard warriors. ugh...
