I figured it out, it has a diff lock but you can't use it. It's only there for service reasons. You engage it by moving a nut on the bottom. It can't be engaged inside the vehicle.

Did you actually go under the Disco and Feel the diffluck nut?

Also, you can use it. You just need to twist the nut. Kinda a pain.

02's and 03's don't. Do you see your diagram above your shifter, you only have high and low, probably have a manual from another year.
Mike
The 2003 manuals Actually talks about the difflock being an option. I think Nick (urban panzer), or p76rangie from LRO said it was an option overseas. Who knows.
Thats right, it was re-introduced in the UK from mid to late 2003 as a customer option, maybe one slipped through over there

I quote!!
The following items are introduced later in the 03 model year build programme and therefore may not appear on all
03 model year vehicles
Driver operated differential lock (if fitted)
High/Low selector shaft fitted with spring assist
Existing differential lock switch replaced by new design switch.
New secondary differential lock switch installed in the front output housing

You need to except the fact, we are correct, you do not have a CDL LT230 t/case, not in any way shape or form, so quit looking for it and get on with your life or ask the next most important question. If you feel you want one then we can help you with locating a used t/case and linkage assembly.

ok Disco Mike it just kinda pissed me off when I noticed it doesn't have one because the guy that I bought it from said it did. Doesn't the TC pretty much do the same as a diff lock just not as good.

Less then 1/2 of what the CDL will do and without burning up your brakes caused from excessive ABS brake use to regulate traction.

There was a Service Action to replace incorrect decals on the center console. Many Discovery IIs came with a decal indicating a center diff lock when the vehicle was not so equipped.
