What are you trying to do? If you have installed a CDL diff. or t/case into an 03 then the 04 cable set up will work fine.

i got a 04 d2 shifter for free...but the diff lock cable was cut.....in half!!!!

so i called the dealer and they want 240$...just for the cable....

i decided to make my own cable repair from the 2 halves that i have left.....

unless someone knows where i can get a complete diff lock cable assembly without spending more than 50$

is the diff lock cable the one that locks the diff into 4x4 low range?
I need to replace that cable, but don't know what the bloody thing is referred to or how much it cost to repair. Any suggestions?

If you have both halfs, weld it back together, then simply clean the welds so it still "smooth" then cover the area with some convulated tubing and heatshrink....

The CDL shifter has 2 connections...at least the D1 shifter I installed in my D2 does. One shifts the transfer case from H-N-L by moving the lever forward or back. The second connection moves the Center Diff Lock nipple from unlock to lock when the lever is moved from one side to the other.

If you don't have the CDL shifter, then the cable you're asking about just shifts the transfer case from H-N-L.

In the event that you can't perform the repair described by Urban Panzer (above), you might want to look into upgrading to a D1 transfer case shifter. It is time consuming, but a lot cheaper than spending $240 for a cable...

FYI... the 04 shifter he is asking about has 2 cables, one for H-L and one for CDL.
