Hey so I’ve basically narrowed my m+s lights down to the XYZ. I have p0705 and when I go to drive I don’t get the d on the dash. Battery and alternator tested good. I ordered a used switch on eBay and the new one is all tan whereas the one on the truck is black and bare metal. I haven’t taken mine out yet but from videos I've seen with the same switch as mine the plug is different. The new one was listed as good for 99-04. Should I be sending this one back and tracking down a different one?

 

Tan ones were from older 99-02 D2's and IMHO are better made vs the 03-04 black units. Now if the plug is different = probably an XYZ off a D1/P38 which will not work. If the plug is the same it will work.

 

Have you tried adjusting the XYZ switch?

 

The black switch is easier to rebuild if you ever have to pull and rebuild them.
