Default DII Radio Removal - Uh Oh...

Made my own self a nice removal tool from folder hanger, inserted into the slots, hooks facing out. Hooks caught on the brackets as advertised. Radio doesn't budge and hooks stay put. Tried a variety of clever wrist moves...nada. Any thoughts? Pic below:

Either buy yourself a set of radio key or see if someone like best buy might unlock it for you.

It's tricky, and can take a while until you've gotten good at it. Have you watched the video I made?

Sure did. Watched it a couple of times. Thought it was excellent. I can tell the hooks are catching, but it feels like the bracket isn't depressed enough. Unlike me. I'll try again tomorrow. Since I can't get the keys out, I can't try a storebought.

I removed mine using these hanging file folder pieces, but rather than sliding them all the way back to catch in the slot, I just used them to release the front spring catches from the radio mounting frame and down into the slot in the radio itself, and then left them there and wiggled and pulled from the cassette tape opening. I did not push mine all the way back over the spring catch and try to drop the file folder tool end in the rear slot and pull by the file holders hooked in the slots like they show at the end of the video.

I had to pull on mine harder than I was comfortable with before it would come out.

Finally got it out. Much wiggling and yanking. Finally stuck a this feeler gauge in along with the tool to fully depress the clip. It's even difficult removing the tool once the radio is out. Next time, I'll try sacrificing a seagull.
