Default Disable engine for compression test

What is the easiest way to disable the engine for a compression test?

Thanks,

Usually one takes out all the spark plugs.
This is done to gain cranking speed and make the test fair and accurate.

Then you put in new spark plugs.

Otherwise, pull the fuel pump fuse.

Ah, fuel pump fuse, of course. Thanks. It was much simpler when all one had to do was pull the HT lead from the coil. Now I can't even see the coil (s).

I wouldn't think cranking speed would make much difference (within reason).

Also, fuel pump relay in under the hood next to the windshield washer relay.

I'd pull it, crank it over a few times to be sure there's no fuel in the system, then do the test.
