Stick with the OEM pads. They don't produce much brake dust, but can still squeal and set off the 3 amigos. My front left is doing that right now.

I can do the brakes. I have performed my own maintenance on all my other vehicles, but I am a new Rover owner so look to the forum for advice on particulars. I installed the Magnecores and Bosch plugs from recommendations from you guys and the results were good. What brand pads do you recommend? Any particulars about Rover brakes.

Go to Atlantic British, they offer a good selection to pick from based on your driving habits. At your mileage you may be needing rotors. Make sure to use lots of sound deadening material and do a full brake bleed, 3 pints of DOT4.

Last I heard, Rover OEM pads can be made by any of 3 different companies, all using the same box, and they are not all equal in their performance, dust and squeaks.

Yep, pulled one of the wheels off this morning and its time for pads and rotors. What do you know the rotor locator screw is stripped out too. Thanks for the info...
