Too much work.
Go to Germany - buy one.
Have it shipped to the east coast.
Deal with the import papers.
No sense trying to build it.

Here is one for about $7.000
and a bunch of them on ebay.de (Germany)

Then when it hits the docks and is impounded by customs because they were never allowed in the states, you can spend even more money try to make it NAS.

If it was that easy the states would be filled with TDI defenders which are also cheap, until they are imported into the states and brought up to NAS and then they sell for $40-100k.

I wonder...Do you know if you transfer the vehicle into PA with it title in another state as a diesel, will that designation (diesel) transfer over to the PA Title and registration?
